Ingredients

- 1 block Extra-firm tofu (Drained and pressed)
- 2 tablespoons Cornstarch (For coating)
- 1 tablespoon Sesame oil (For flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Table salt (For seasoning)
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper (For seasoning)
- 1 pound Green beans (Fresh)
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil (For sautéing)
- 3 cloves Garlic (Grated)
- 3 tablespoons Soy sauce (Flavor base)
- 1 tablespoon Dark soy sauce (For color and sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon Rice wine vinegar (For tanginess)
- 1 teaspoon Granulated sugar (Balances flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Chili flakes (Adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons Water (To thin the sauce)
- 1 tablespoon White sesame seeds (For garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare Tofu: Drain and press tofu for 30 minutes, then cube into ½-inch pieces.
- Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Coat Tofu: Toss tofu cubes with cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and sesame oil.
- Bake Tofu: Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Sauté Green Beans: Heat vegetable oil and sesame oil, sauté half the green beans for 6-7 minutes, then repeat.
- Prepare Sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, dark soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, chili flakes, and water.
- Sauté Garlic: Add grated garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute.
- Combine Ingredients: Add crispy tofu and sautéed green beans to the pan with garlic.
- Add Sauce: Pour sauce over and cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately, ideally over steamed jasmine rice.
