Description
French Onion Cheese Bread is a deliciously savory appetizer featuring crusty French bread topped with a flavorful mixture of butter, onion soup mix, and parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14-oz) loaf French bread
- ½ cup butter, room temperature
- 1 (1-oz) packet onion soup mix
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) to prepare it for baking the bread evenly.
- Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise, creating two large halves, and place them cut-side up on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter with ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese and the onion soup mix. Stir well to create a smooth, flavorful spread.
- Evenly spread the butter mixture over the cut sides of both bread halves. Then sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of parmesan cheese over the top for an extra cheesy crust.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted and slightly golden brown.
