- ½ cup heavy cream
- 4 ounces dark chocolate (60% cacao)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon instant coffee or espresso powder

- Mini marshmallows (optional)
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup of 2% milk and ½ cup of heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently until the milk begins to bubble around the edges.
- Reduce heat to low and whisk in 4 ounces of finely chopped dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has fully melted into the liquid.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ½ teaspoon of instant coffee or espresso powder. Whisk until smooth.
- Remove from heat and transfer the hot chocolate into a large measuring cup or pitcher with a spout for easy pouring.
- Serve in mugs topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or mini marshmallows if desired.
