- 1 cup almond flour (100g)
- 1 ¾ cups confectioners’ sugar (200g)
- 2 large egg whites (70g)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (50g)
- 2 tsp gel food coloring
- ½ cup high-quality fondant (60g)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together almond flour and confectioners’ sugar until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whip egg whites to soft peaks. Gradually add granulated sugar while whipping until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the whipped egg whites until you achieve a lava-like consistency.
- Pipe heart shapes onto the prepared baking sheets and let them rest for 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they lift easily from the parchment paper. Cool completely before filling with fondant.
