Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 hamburger buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for toasting buns
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Form ground beef into four patties, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Grill patties for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- In the last minute of cooking, place cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- Meanwhile, grill sliced onions until caramelized.
- Butter and toast the hamburger buns on the grill.
- Assemble the burger with the patty, caramelized onions, and top with the other half of the bun.
