Ingredients

  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for toasting buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Form ground beef into four patties, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill patties for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  4. In the last minute of cooking, place cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  5. Meanwhile, grill sliced onions until caramelized.
  6. Butter and toast the hamburger buns on the grill.
  7. Assemble the burger with the patty, caramelized onions, and top with the other half of the bun.
