Description

Irresistible Espresso Martini Tart for Your Next Dessert Fix

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (use crushed Oreos for a rich flavor)
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream (provides luscious creaminess)
  • 0.5 cup whole milk (a rich alternative)
  • 2 tbsp instant espresso powder (heightens coffee flavor)
  • 4 oz dark chocolate (finely chopped, high-quality)
  • 0.5 cup sugar (balances flavors)
  • 2 egg yolks (help set the filling)
  • 2 tbsp vodka (adds complexity)
  • 1 tbsp coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa) (enriches coffee flavor)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (rounds out flavors)
  • 4 oz dark chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream (creates silky ganache)

Instructions

  1. Combine the chocolate cookie crumbs, melted butter, and sugar in a bowl until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press it firmly into a tart pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes. Allow it to cool completely.
  2. Heat the heavy cream, milk, and espresso powder in a saucepan over medium heat until it’s steaming but not boiling. Remove it from the heat and whisk in the chopped dark chocolate until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  3. Whisk together the sugar and egg yolks in a separate bowl. Gradually pour in the warm chocolate mixture while whisking constantly, ensuring a creamy consistency. Stir in the vodka, coffee liqueur, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Pour the filling into your cooled crust. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 20-25 minutes, watching until the edges are set but the center still jiggles slightly. Let it cool completely to set.
  5. Prepare the topping by heating heavy cream until steaming, then pouring it over the remaining chopped dark chocolate. Let it sit for a minute before stirring until smooth. Pour this luscious ganache over your cooled tart.
  6. Garnish with chocolate shavings and coffee beans for that extra touch of elegance. Slice into delicious pieces and enjoy.
