Description
Decadent Crack-Top Fudgy Brownies
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for added richness.
- Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). The top should be shiny and cracked.
- Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut into squares and serve. These brownies are delightful on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
