Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for added richness.
  7. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). The top should be shiny and cracked.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
