Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, stirring until smooth.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan on a wire rack.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk and instant banana pudding mix until smooth. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
- Once the brownies have cooled completely, spread the banana pudding mixture evenly over the top of the brownies.
- Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the pudding layer.
- Cover the dessert with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the layers to set.
- Before serving, top with additional whipped topping, banana slices, and crushed vanilla wafers if desired.
