Description

Decadent Banana Pudding Brownies: A Delightful Dessert

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Brownie Base:
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter: Melted.
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar: For sweetness.
  • 2 large eggs: To bind the ingredients.
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract: For flavor.
  • 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder: For that rich chocolate flavor.
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour: For structure.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt: Essential seasoning.
  • For the Banana Pudding Layer:
  • 2 cups of milk: Whole milk is recommended for creaminess.
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) of instant banana pudding mix: For the pudding flavor.
  • 1 cup of whipped topping: Thawed (like Cool Whip).
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced: Fresh for flavor and texture.
  • For Topping:
  • Additional whipped topping: For serving.
  • Sliced bananas: For garnish.
  • Crushed vanilla wafers (optional): For added texture and flavor.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, stirring until smooth.
  4. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  8. In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk and instant banana pudding mix until smooth. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
  9. Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
  10. Once the brownies have cooled completely, spread the banana pudding mixture evenly over the top of the brownies.
  11. Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the pudding layer.
  12. Cover the dessert with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the layers to set.
  13. Before serving, top with additional whipped topping, banana slices, and crushed vanilla wafers if desired.
