- For the Topping:

Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- Cut in Butter: Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add Water: Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overwork the dough.
- Chill: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
- Mix Filling Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup almond flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup softened butter, beaten egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Preheat: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Transfer to Baking Sheet: Place the rolled dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Spread Filling: Spread the almond filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Fold Edges: Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, creating a border. This will help contain the filling while baking.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the top of the filling.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Mix Glaze Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar and 2-3 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Adjust the milk to reach your desired glaze consistency.
- Cool and Glaze: Once baked, remove the Danish Almond Puff from the oven and let it cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze over the top before slicing.
- Enjoy: Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your delicious Danish Almond Puff!
