Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Cut in Butter: Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add Water: Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overwork the dough.
  4. Chill: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  5. Mix Filling Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup almond flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup softened butter, beaten egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
