Instructions

  1. Thaw the puff pastry overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Soak the dates in warm water for about 10 minutes, blend with tamarind paste, spices, and water until smooth.
  3. In a separate blender, combine garlic, Kashmiri chili powder, lime juice, sugar, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  4. Steam and mash the potatoes, mix in spices, melted butter, and a dollop of date chutney.
  5. Roll out the pastry, spread chili garlic chutney, layer potato filling, and sprinkle with peanuts. Roll tightly and slice into 1 inch rounds.
  6. Refrigerate the sliced pinwheels for at least 15 minutes.
