Ingredients

- 1.5 lb chicken breasts or thighs (boneless, skinless)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion (diced)
- 2 carrots (sliced)
- 2 celery stalks (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.75 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
Instructions
- Add chicken, vegetables, broth, and seasonings to slow cooker.
- Cook until chicken is tender, then shred and return to pot.
- Stir in milk and butter.
- Mix dumpling ingredients until just combined.
- Drop dumpling dough onto hot stew.
- Cover and cook until dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- For a thicker stew, add more flour.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
