- 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing dish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- Chop the green cabbage into small bite-sized pieces and finely dice the onion.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped cabbage, diced onion, eggs, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated without overmixing.
- Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until fully cooked and the top is golden brown.
- For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 3–5 minutes while watching carefully.
- Remove from oven, let rest for 5–10 minutes, slice, and serve warm.
