Description

Crispy Bang Bang Chicken: A Spicy and Crunchy Delight

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast: Cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour: For breading.
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs: For extra crunch.
  • 2 large eggs: Beaten, for binding.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder: For flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder: For flavor.
  • Salt and pepper: To taste.
  • Oil: For frying (vegetable or canola oil).
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise: For creaminess.
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce: For sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha: For heat (adjust to taste).
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice: For brightness.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Dip each piece of chicken into the flour, shaking off the excess, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is well-coated.
  3. In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, add the breaded chicken pieces in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and lime juice until smooth and well combined.
  7. In a large bowl, add the crispy chicken and drizzle the Bang Bang sauce over the top. Toss gently to coat the chicken evenly in the sauce.
  8. Serve the Crispy Bang Bang Chicken warm, garnished with sliced green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by adding more or less Sriracha.
  • Serve with rice or salad for a complete meal.
