Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: Combine chicken pieces and buttermilk in a bowl. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Prepare coating: Whisk together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
- Coat the chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring full coverage. Shake off excess flour.
- Fry the chicken: Heat 1-2 inches of oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken pieces in batches for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
- Prepare the Bang Bang sauce: Combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and honey in a bowl. Stir until smooth.
- Serve: Toss crispy chicken in the Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.
