- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns, crushed
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the steak bites dry and season with salt.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak bites for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
- Add butter to the skillet. Add shallot and cook until softened, about 2 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in beef broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Stir in heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and crushed black peppercorns. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the steak bites to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and steak is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve your creamy peppercorn steak bites immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can use other cuts of steak like ribeye or New York strip.
