Description
A delightful dish that blends hearty flavors with a rich, creamy texture, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz penne pasta (Can be substituted with fettuccine or rotini.)
- 1 lb lean ground beef (Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.)
- 1 cup heavy cream (Can substitute with coconut cream for a dairy-free option.)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (Use freshly grated for best flavor.)
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning (Adjust to taste.)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil (For sautéing.)
Instructions
- Cook the penne according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned, which should take about 7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
- Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
- Combine the cooked penne with the sauce in the skillet, tossing gently to coat the pasta evenly.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.
