- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 small onion, finely diced

- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/4 cup frozen peas or carrots
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add onion and cook 3–4 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Sprinkle flour over beef and stir. Slowly add beef broth and milk, stirring until smooth. Add thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter just until combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough over simmering beef. Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook 12–15 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Remove from heat, rest 2–3 minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
