- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp instant espresso powder
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup softened butter
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp strong brewed coffee
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve espresso powder in warm milk and add yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter to create the filling.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, and roll tightly from one side. Slice into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, and brewed coffee until smooth.
- Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve immediately.
