Description

Cinnamon Maple Meringues are light, airy confections combining the sweetness of maple syrup with the warm spice of cinnamon. These crispy, melt-in-your-mouth treats are perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed until frothy. Add the cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
  3. Slowly add the granulated sugar, about 1 tablespoon at a time, while beating on high speed until the mixture is glossy and stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and maple syrup.
  5. Transfer the meringue mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star or round tip. Pipe dollops or swirls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, or until dry to the touch and easily lift off the parchment paper.
  7. Turn off the oven and leave the meringues inside to cool completely, about 1 hour.
  8. Once cooled, remove from parchment paper and serve.
