  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • ⅓ cup butter, melted
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup butter, melted (for spreading)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (or as needed for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the warm milk and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (approximately 1 hour).
  6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about half an inch thick.
  8. Spread melted butter evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  9. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly across the surface.
  10. Starting from one edge, roll up the dough tightly into a log shape.
  11. Use dental floss or a sharp knife to cut into equal pieces (about 1 inch thick).
  12. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for another half-hour while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  13. Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. While baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk until you reach desired consistency.
  15. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.
