- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- ⅓ cup butter, melted
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- ⅓ cup butter, melted (for spreading)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (or as needed for drizzling)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the warm milk and melted butter.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (approximately 1 hour).
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about half an inch thick.
- Spread melted butter evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly across the surface.
- Starting from one edge, roll up the dough tightly into a log shape.
- Use dental floss or a sharp knife to cut into equal pieces (about 1 inch thick).
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for another half-hour while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- While baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk until you reach desired consistency.
- Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.
