Description
These Christmas Light Cupcakes are a festive holiday treat. They feature moist devil’s food chocolate cupcakes topped with fluffy cream cheese frosting and decorated to look like colorful string lights.

- 1 box devil’s food cake mix (plus ingredients called for on box)
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Black decorating gel
- Mini M&Ms (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line two muffin tins with cupcake liners.
- Prepare devil’s food cake batter according to package instructions. Fill liners 3/4 full and bake for about 18 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and salt until light and fluffy. Gently fold in the whipped cream to make the frosting.
- Transfer frosting to a piping bag or large zip-top bag and pipe onto cooled cupcakes.
- Use black decorating gel to draw a swirl around the frosting.
- Press mini M&Ms along the black gel to resemble Christmas lights.

- Ensure cupcakes are completely cool before frosting.
