Description

Festive Christmas Eggnog Bread – Moist, Sweet & Full of Holiday Flavor

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups (360 ml) eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Swap vanilla for almond extract
  • Use dairy-free eggnog for a DF version
  • Add orange zest for brightness

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, oil, vanilla, and eggnog until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  3. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and gently fold until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
  5. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack. Drizzle with optional eggnog glaze once fully cooled.
  6. For glaze, mix ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar, 1–2 tablespoons eggnog, and a pinch of nutmeg.
