Festive Christmas Eggnog Bread – Moist, Sweet & Full of Holiday Flavor

- 2 ¼ cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups (360 ml) eggnog
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- Swap vanilla for almond extract
- Use dairy-free eggnog for a DF version
- Add orange zest for brightness
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, oil, vanilla, and eggnog until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and gently fold until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
- Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack. Drizzle with optional eggnog glaze once fully cooled.
- For glaze, mix ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar, 1–2 tablespoons eggnog, and a pinch of nutmeg.
