- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until dough forms.
- Scoop 1.5 tablespoon-sized dough balls and roll them in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place dough balls 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
