- 1/2 cup Cold unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and sprinkle 1 tsp of sugar. Wait about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, remaining sugar, oil, vanilla extract, egg yolks, and yeast mixture until combined.
- Gradually add flour and salt while stirring until a dough starts to form.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- While the dough rises, mix the chopped dark chocolate with ground cinnamon and cold butter until combined.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Evenly spread your chocolate mixture over the rolled dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, then slice it into pieces.
- Place the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover again, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Brush tops with reserved egg white mixed with a tablespoon of milk and sprinkle on streusel topping.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and your kitchen smells divine.
