  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for the dough)
  • 3 fluid ounces water (about 90 ml)
  • 3.5 ounces cheese (about 100 g), grated
  • Extra butter (for brushing and frying)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and set it aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter and water to the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix everything together until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough by hand until smooth.
  6. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.
  7. Roll each portion into a ball and keep them covered so they don’t dry out.
  8. Grate the cheese and set it aside.
  9. Roll each dough ball out thinly.
  10. Brush the surface with melted butter.
  11. Sprinkle grated cheese over the dough.
  12. Fold the dough to enclose the cheese inside.
  13. Repeat the same steps with the remaining dough portions.
  14. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little butter.
  15. Place the prepared bread into the skillet.
  16. Brush the top with butter.
  17. Cook until the bread puffs up and turns golden brown on one side.
  18. Flip it over and cook the other side until golden brown as well.
  19. Remove from the skillet and serve warm.
