- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (sifted)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Gradually mix in the sifted flour until combined.
- Press half of the mixture into the prepared baking dish to form the base layer.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, remaining butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until melted and smooth.
- Pour the caramel filling over the base layer and crumble the remaining dough on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely before slicing into squares.
