  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easier cleanup.
  2. Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Place the cabbage on a cutting board and slice it into ¾–1 inch thick steaks. You should get about 4–6 slices, depending on the size of the cabbage.
  3. Arrange the cabbage steaks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Brush both sides of the cabbage slices with olive oil. Sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the cabbage steaks for 20 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn golden and slightly crispy.
  6. Remove the cabbage from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over each steak.
  7. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately while warm.
