Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ¾ cups buttermilk
- ½ cup butter (1 stick), melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F and melt the butter in an 8×8 baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Pour in buttermilk and stir until just combined; dough will be sticky.
- Transfer dough to the buttered baking dish and gently spread it out.
- Score the dough with a knife into 9 squares (do not cut all the way through).
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown on top.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm.
