Description

Easy Bubba’s Crab Stew is a rich, creamy Southern seafood classic made with butter, milk, cream, and sweet lump crab meat.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup corn kernels
  • 1 small potato, finely diced and cooked
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat. Add onion and cook 3–4 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Reduce heat to low and slowly stir in milk and heavy cream. Warm gently without boiling.
  3. Add paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and black pepper. Stir well and adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Gently fold in crab meat. Add corn or potatoes if using.
  5. Simmer on low heat for 10–12 minutes until heated through and slightly thickened. Do not boil.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
