Description

This Breakfast Stromboli recipe is a delicious, savory dish perfect for a hearty morning meal or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (13.8-ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • ½ cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 green onions, sliced thin
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 tablespoons water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large skillet, scramble 6 large eggs until they are mostly cooked but still slightly runny.
  3. Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough on parchment paper and stretch it out.
  4. Spread 1 ½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese over the top half of the dough, leaving about an inch empty on each end.
  5. Layer the scrambled eggs, cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage, crumbled bacon, and thinly sliced green onions over the cheese-covered area.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from the cheese side, pinching the ends and seam securely to seal the fillings inside.
  7. Transfer the parchment paper with the stromboli onto a baking sheet.
  8. Combine 1 beaten egg with 1-2 tablespoons of water to create an egg wash.
  9. Flip the stromboli seam-side down on the baking sheet and brush the top evenly with the egg wash.
  10. Sprinkle ¼ teaspoon of Italian seasoning and ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder on top.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. Serve immediately.
