  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly brush it with oil. Set up two bowls: one with beaten eggs and one with flour seasoned with salt and pepper.
  2. Dip each piece of chicken into the eggs first, then coat it thoroughly in the flour. Place the coated chicken pieces on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  3. Bake the chicken for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.
  4. While the chicken bakes, combine orange juice, orange zest, sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan over medium heat. Let it simmer gently.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir it into the sauce and cook until thickened and glossy.
  6. Once the chicken is done, transfer it to a large bowl and pour the warm orange sauce over the top. Toss gently until every piece is coated.
