Description
Avocado Tzatziki is a creamy, refreshing twist on the classic Greek dip. Made with ripe avocado, tangy Greek yogurt, crisp cucumber, fresh dill, and bright lemon juice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
- ½ cup grated cucumber (excess moisture squeezed out)
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or mint)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional: pinch of ground cumin or crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Grate the cucumber using a box grater. Place in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out excess moisture to prevent a watery dip.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the avocado with a fork until smooth, or blend in a food processor for a silkier texture.
- Add Greek yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, garlic, salt, and pepper to the mashed avocado. Stir until well combined.
- Gently mix in the grated cucumber for added texture.
- Taste and adjust with more lemon juice, herbs, or seasoning as needed.
- Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes before serving. Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh dill if desired.
Notes
- Serve with fresh veggies or pita chips.
- Great as a spread in wraps and sandwiches.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
