Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 medium apples (peeled and sliced into thin slices)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar (or demara sugar)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400℉.
  2. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll the pie crust out on top of the parchment paper.
  4. Peel and slice the apples into thin slices.
  5. Add the sliced apples and lemon juice to a large bowl. Toss to combine, then add the brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon.
  6. Stir to combine until there are no dry spots.
  7. Arrange the apples in the center of the pie crust, leaving about 2 inches as a border.
  8. Fold the crust over the apples, brush it with melted butter, and sprinkle raw sugar on top.
  9. Bake for 37-44 minutes, or until golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
  10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped cream.
